Career Planning – Why You Must Do It

It’s a simple equation; higher quality careers planning = a higher quality lifestyle. How happy are you right now with your lifestyle? I’m talking about your waking hours, between getting out of bed and getting back in to bed. How do you feel for most of that time? Do you feel happy, energized, and fulfilled with how you use your time, or could you use some major improvements? Whatever your answer, consider the quality of the careers planning process that you went through to get in to this position.

If you’re lucky, you will be earning a living already in your ideal career doing what you love and being good at it. But many people are currently not working in their ideal career. Many people know that there must be some other way to earn a living that brings many more rewards, perhaps higher earnings, more variety, respect or recognition. And these rewards of course impact your lifestyle.

Somewhere out there is a way for you to earn a living without it even feeling like ‘work’. And when you identify and get in to this ideal career, you enter a very positive and life changing cycle. Because generally in life, we tend to get good at the things we enjoy doing. And we tend to enjoy more the things that we get good at. So the better you get at your career, the more you enjoy it and the more you enjoy it the better you get. This of course points to more rewards, be it financial, mental, physical or emotional.

Most people who have not gone through a high quality careers planning process are unfortunately in the opposite negative cycle to this. Many people simply don’t like what they’re doing, or don’t feel that they are very good at their job. If they don’t feel good at it, they are less likely to enjoy it, and if they don’t enjoy it, they are less likely to get good at it (until that is they make an active decision to get better at it).

So which cycle are you in?

If you’re in the positive cycle, great. Why not ramp things up even more by purposefully getting even better at your career in order to enjoy it even more? If you do, you’ll reap more rewards and an even more fulfilling lifestyle. It’s simple cause and effect.

If you are in the negative cycle, then you can enter the positive cycle in 1 of 2 ways. You can either stay in your current career and create a plan to get better at your job. Your first step here which I highly recommend anyone to do is to look into upgrading your learning ability. Most people go about learning new skills, knowledge and behaviors in a very ineffective and inefficient way. If you want to get better at anything fast, look into accelerated learning, learning how to learn fast, and then use this skill of learning fast to get better at your job or career quickly! This should increase the enjoyment of your career significantly.

Alternatively, and I would strongly recommend this entry point to the positive cycle, you must find a way of earning a living doing what you naturally enjoy. Then you can enjoy getting better at it (both naturally and by using accelerated learning techniques). You need some serious dedicated time to the careers planning process. So, if you’re ready to enter the cycle here, where do you start?

When I went through this process about 6 years ago, I studied every resource I could find on the subject of finding your ideal career. I read plenty of books on the subject, until I was confident that I would approach the process in the right way (and I know I got it right because I’m happily working away in my ideal career now!)

There’s plenty of advice online too, but be careful. You can try Googling ‘careers planning’ but check the credibility of what you find. Remember many careers advisors are not in their ideal career themselves! If they haven’t got it right yet and they advise you, you’re open to heading down a similar path. You want to find a proven system – a recipe that works.

Finally, here’s what I did to kick start the process for me. I made the DECISION to identify my ideal career and get into it by a certain date. I set a goal. This is something you can do right now. You can either finish this article and get on with experiencing the same lifestyle that you currently have day in and day out. Or you can grab a pen and paper right now, choose a date to have identified your ideal career by, write your goal down, leave it where you will see it daily, and start planning out some steps to take (with deadlines) that will get you there. This simple step is easy and will set the ball rolling to a more rewarding life style. Remember, it’s simple cause and effect.

Pet Training Tips to Help You Train Your Puppies

Having pets can be a wonderful experience, but of course, part of having wonderful pets is your responsibility of making them obedient pets as well. A pet owner’s responsibility is huge and that includes training your pets to become obedient and clean as well.

If you are trying to train your puppies, read on to find few tips that might help you make the training more effective and fast. Pet training can be challenging and if you do not have a good guide to do it, the whole process can be a little difficult. Here are a few pet training tips that you might want to learn to help you make the training a little easier for you and your pet.

1. Don’t train in haste.
Pet training is a process and it can be long and challenging. If you are trying to train your puppy, it is important to understand the behavior of the animals to make the training effective. Dogs are animals of habit and thus, you have to be patient about training your pet puppies. Training is not a race thus you don’t have to train in haste or else you will make training errors that will later difficult to correct.

2. Start early.Starting early is one of the pet training tips that can be effective especially in controlling behavioral problems with your pets. If you start early, you will also help avoid your pets developing bad habits. The earlier you can start with your training, the easier it will be to train your pets and avoid bad habits. Of course, developing your pet’s behavior early will help you introduce good behavior without your pet exposed to bad habits.

3. Socialize your pet.
Aggression and behavioral problems are among the things that you might deal with if you are training your pet. Of course, animals have certain aggression on them and that you may have to deal with it during training. One of the pet training tips that can help you deal with behavioral problems is to socialize your pet and allow them to meet other pets and people as well. You can walk your dog to the park to allow them to meet other animals and allow them to get use to mingling with other animals as well.

4. Rewarding your pet at the right timing.
Another one of the pet training tips that you have to keep in mind is to give rewards to your pets every time he completes a task or does a good job during the training. Giving rewards is a good technique but keep in mind that proper timing is another important element to help make the reward work for your pet. Giving your reward too late can be misinterpreted by your pet and that can lead to miscommunication that may also lead to failure in your training.

5. Stick to a schedule. Consistency is the key.
In training your pets, it is important that you have a regular schedule to follow. Dogs in particular are animals of habit, thus one of the important things you have to do to start an effective training is to have a schedule, stick to it and continue training your pet until he learns the things you want him to learn.

Revolutionary Educational E-Governance

At the outset of 21st century, technology has arisen mankind to a superlative epoch. From basic computing of the abacus days we have evolved to the high tech OmVcard of MStar Expert Systems developed by MGRM technologies. This OmVcard is a microprocessor chip based proprietary value card that empowers the subject and unfolds the route of infinite opportunities and success. It is a ground breaking thought that shall establish benchmarks in ceding education as it brings the concept of educational eGovernance to the fore.

The educational eGovernance accomplishes integration of all verticals in the field of learning. As an application educational eGovernance delivers the educational rehabilitation by refining and thoroughly developing the paradigms of knowledge in an individual. The life cycle approach that this solution adopts emphasizes on the necessities of the stakeholders in the education domain in terms of automation and purposeful transformation of the education system. This evolutionary mechanism brings the public, educational institutions and the state on one platform under one hood.

The educational eGovernance concept is applicable globally since it’s genesis began keeping in mind the global standards of feasibility. With various attitudinal approaches and cognitive skills of different cultures the deployment of this application has been at a variable pace. Nations like United States and European Union have shown an inquisition for this promising application. Hence many universities and state machineries have adopted it to ensure successful upgradation of their systems. So in the west it can be said that educational eGovernance will take it’s intended course and thus it remains a matter of time for us to see it become a propellant force there.

The situation where it all began is yet set to contrary. India is one of the most promising nations in the context of human resources and highly skilled labour however proportionally whatever quantity of quality output that emerges from the education system is more a case of providence and the determination of the students. With a vibrant demographic position India is yet to take a stride in terms of developing it’s undermined education sector. In the present scenario the inherited education system that we have has started to show need for upgradation on all levels. The British education system has established certain parameters that have become common expectations of all.

Since there has been a steep rise in population over the years the pressure on public institutions has also augmented in the same ratio. This occurrence has made India’s education system chaotic. The present characteristics of the academic sector are therefore not much pleasing and categorize as high dropout rate, teacher truancy, obsolete syllabi, inadequate infrastructure, unemployable graduates and the lot. The present structure lacks means of continuous monitoring, meaningful evaluation of the teacher and the taught, constant feedback to the administrators, faculty, parents and students.

The need of appropriate timely control and correction mechanisms is the solution to the situation and hence the educational eGovernance features into the scene. Many institutions and state facilitations have understood this phenomenon and have espoused educational eGovernance into their systems. The practicality of the solution has been tested and has excelled. The proliferation is yet on a run and as the word spreads the MStar Expert Systems also evolves simultaneously as they are a life cycle oriented mechanisms. The right to education will acquire it’s real meaning by the courtesy of MStar Expert Systems as the deployment of OmVcard will enable integrating every available piece of information for seamless instant access by the concerned individual.

This will reflect in the transparency of the system and accountability of responsible parties could be determined. Performances of teachers could incidentally be logically related to the grades of the pupils and even to the drop out statistics. The relevance of data that MStar Expert Systems will provide shall clear the haze and make our education system tweaked for better performance on each day. As a life cycle approach MStar Expert Systems will deliver to us the education system that is just as alive as us since MGRM technologies define the end in order to provide the means.

Easy Way to Learn English in Urdu

English has become a virtual requirement in order to secure the best jobs and opportunities today. That is, you need to speak fluent English in order to outdo the rest of the applicants. Unfortunately, English is thought to be difficult as a result of many exemptions and rules. However, there are proven ways to successfully learn to write, read and speak English. Read through to understand how to easily learn English in Urdu.

To begin with, learning English online is the most convenient method. You will have a wide range of materials to refer to. You will also have the flexibility of being able to log on and study at your convenient time. There are no rigid class schedules which you have to attend every week. This reduces the risk of falling behind your studies. This implies that online classes are very easy to adjust based on your work and daily schedules.

The best way of learning any language is through practice. Many graduates are unable to write fluent articles due to lack of practice. To evade this, create time to practice. You can do this by reading through English books and novels.

During practice, put more emphasis on listening and speaking instead of writing and reading. For instance, a child is able to learn a very difficult language such as Chinese in roughly four to five years just by listening and speaking. Learning a language through listening and speaking is always effective since it is the natural method of learning languages.

This process may require you to change the kind of life you spend. For instance, you might be forced to change your television watching along with reading habits. Just read English books and watch English television channels alongside movies for at least two years. In your daily conversations with either your friends and close relatives, it is advisable to solely use English.

You need to understand that this process has a lot of obstacles. Hesitation is the key barrier to learning languages. Avoid listening to people’s opinions. Normally, as you begin learning, you will not be fluent, your sentences will contain a lot of grammatical errors, sentence fragments making it very broken. Take your mistakes as your teacher. Have a diary for recording the new words learnt and also the correct wordings of the words you may have made mistakes on.

Finally, it is important to seek help from professionals, you can write letters to editors explaining where you need help. This will encourage you to be a good writer, reader and speaker of English as a language.

How to Choose the Right Coach

If what you are planning to do is find a coach hire to wow your girlfriend or maybe your friends, then there is a wide array of coaches that you can choose from. It is certainly without a doubt that coach hires are pretty expensive; as a matter of fact, if you have that budget and you are considering the idea of buying one, you would most likely shell out about 180,000 pounds for a common coach and for a double-decked coach that is approximately 230,000 pounds. One more thing, the maintenance is also very costly. It will normally eat up around ten up to thirteen miles per gallon, plus you will also need to take care of the license of the coach. Pretty slick, huh?

Now, if you find all that data too overwhelming, just hire a coach. Here are some of the different types of coach hires available:

Standard Coach
This particular type of coach does not contain that extra special feature like a refrigerator, toilet or even reclining seats. This is mostly used for short travels.

Full-Sized Coach
This coach can carry about forty to sixty passengers. Depending on the company, some of these coaches have toilets and TVs in them.

Executive Coach
This coach is the best for long distance travels. It comes complete with forty to sixty reclining seats, air conditioning, toilet facilities, TV and video player, hot or cold drinks, curtains and the windows being double- glazed.

Corporate Coach
Often referred to as a Team Coach. This coach is the evolution of the executive class coach. It has all the amenities, but fewer seats. The seats are replaced by tables which give the passengers more room for that extra comfort. The seating capacity of the corporate coach is normally about fifteen to thirty-five, but the enhancements are comprised of leather seats, food and drinks station, kitchen and laptop power sources and even Wi-Fi service at times. This coach would normally cost you more, but it is all worth the money.

Double-decked Coach
This type is also one of the evolutions of the executive class, but can carry twice the amount – about sixty to eighty passengers. One of the best things about this coach is that the seats are situated upstairs while the lower deck is comprised of tables, chairs and sleeping units.

Small, Midi or Mini Coach
The seating capacity of this vehicle is normally around sixteen to thirty-five. However, most of the built-in seats resemble to that of the standard class. It is narrower compared to the full-sized vehicle, thus giving you that cramped feeling. This coach is very popular to party goers and day trippers and because of its size, it is easier to maneuver.

Handicapped-Access Coach
Although there was only a handful being made, this coach resembles the size of the mini coach. A tail lift is specially fitted on the back of the vehicle to fit the needs of the passenger. There are also full-sized versions of this coach; it also has a lift fitted on the side of the bus so that the passenger can remain seated on his/her wheelchair which can be locked firmly on the floor.

How to Write a Book and Get It Published

My first suggestion is to write your book! You have had it in your heart, you’ve had it in your mind for how long? And you haven’t sat down to write it yet!

So you want to write a fiction book, non fiction, a mystery, a fantasy, an autobiography: Whatever you want to write, all you have got to do is sit down and write it but when you do sit down to write, don’t ever worry about editing, don’t worry about misspellings, don’t worry about any of that kind of stuff. Just write your book and get it in your keypad, just keep on writing, write until it’s done because you’ve always wanted to do it and you are never going to be satisfied until you have done it or at least attempted it and then you can say at least you have tried to write a book or maybe you’ll end up writing a book and..maybe you’ll be a best seller! Or maybe not, but at least you’ve tried!

The first thing that you need to do is make a decision on whether to write it yourself or hire someone to do it for you.

#1: Write The Entire Book Yourself:

Notes! Carry a notebook around with you everywhere you go and take notes down. Find a quiet place to write – it could be the spare bedroom, your office, the conservatory, when you are in a car, on a train, waiting for a bus, or even the garden shed! Basically anywhere away from any family or friends or kids, from whoever or whatever is going to interrupt you. This is because you never know when you are going to get a great ideas and you need to be free of distractions to create and get those ideas down. Also when you are reading a great book, have a notepad with you to jot down ideas you come across from the book.

Set aside a minimum of two hours a week to write. Tell yourself every Monday or every Friday “I’ll write… the kids are in school… perfect! From 10am-12noon I’ll write every Monday. I’ll sit down and get focused”. Hey, even if you do that and maybe it’s not working for you that particular time, that’s fine too! You are supposed to enjoy your writing; writing is fun, healthy and stress-relieving so try to find the time to write. If it works, it works. If it doesn’t, move on because next time inspiration might strike and the time will come again.

Some people attempt to set aside time to write but with their busy lifestyle it doesn’t work. So whilst the setting aside two hours a week somewhere quiet may work for some people, others might want to go away on a retreat as I know some authors do for sometimes five days and all they’ll do is sit down and just write! They will take their computer but with the internet disabled and their phone left firmly at home. And that’s it! They just sit there and write.

I have heard people put together a whole book in just five days. They sat there in front of their computer and wrote their book. So it’s up to you to do it whichever way you prefer. But remember that you are going to do the job once and get paid for potentially a life time so it’s worth investing the time to do it. Try both strategies and see which one works best for you.

Tips:

Most people find that it works better if you put two hours a day everyday to write something down and do it consistently.

You can write a book without even being able to write! For example Dragon Naturally Speaking is software that you can install onto your computer, attach a microphone to it and then recite your book or just your ideas into your computer. The Dragon Naturally Speaking software recognizes your voice and how you pronounce your words and then processes it with the end result that you can actually speak into the mic attached to your computer and the Dragon Naturally Speaking software will faithfully transcribe what you are saying with about 80-90% accuracy. It sometimes takes a while to catch up so don’t look at the computer screen while you’re speaking because it could be up to ten seconds behind you. So turn to the side, put your microphone in front of you and speak and the computer will catch up whilst you just talk normally and naturally about your subject.

If you are a conference speaker, keynote speaker, teacher or university lecturer and you are used to public speaking, it will be pretty easy for you. If you are maybe not a confident speaker, ask your friend to come over and say “Here is a list of questions. Ask me these questions and I’m going to talk about them and it’s all going to go into the computer.” And then once you’ve got all those ideas down using these prompts, you can actually edit the book on your computer and it’s a lot easy to do that if you’ve got a body of information there.

You can get 60% or 70% done in a couple of hours sometimes, depending on how fast you talk but let’s just say it can take you few days to get 80% of your book down and that is still pretty impressive! Utilising voice recognition software like Dragon Naturally Speaking is a great way to write a book for those that may not be too confident in writing down information. On the other hand, it could be slow or they can’t get the ideas out of their head fast enough!

Another thing to just add as well is that I find a lot of people say “Oh! I have got a manuscript in my computer, is it enough for a book?” It’s a difficult thing: they might have 10,000 words or 15,000 or 100,000 words! Obviously, for fiction writers there is no real set length to a book; some books are short, some books are long and it’s completely up to you. You will probably work that out for yourself but for people that are writing nonfiction books, I’d recommend writing somewhere between 150-200 pages or maybe slightly more. I’m just saying because some people may ask “How do I know when I have got enough information to have my book published?” and they say “I have got this many words, have I got a book?” I’d recommend you aim for a target of 40,000 words. 40,000 words it’s a good size.

That is #1! you can write the entire book yourself.

#2: You Can Outsource The Writing To Somebody Else:

Hire a professional writer (ie. “a Ghost Writer”) to write the book (lots of celebrity “authors” do just that!)

Embark on a joint venture with a writer and share the profits.

What NOT to Do on the AP US History Exam

The APUSH Exam is statistically the most difficult AP exam given by the College Board. Passing can mean some hardcore studying but knowing what not to study and what not to do on the AP exam can lower the amount of time you do spend studying. Here are 5 tips that every AP United States History student SHOULDN’T do on the AP Exam.

1. Rush Through the AP Exam
Take your time when you are taking the APUSH Exam. Rushing can be a real killer to your score, especially since the college board likes to set up traps for students that are rushing. Try to pace yourself. Don’t take too much time. Try to find a balance between the two.

2. Trying to Answer Every Question
One BIG thing I among other AP teachers preach is skipping questions that are giving you trouble. If you come across a difficult question skip and save it for later. When you have time, go back and try to answer it. You lose too much time and possible points when you try to answer these hard questions up front. That’s why its best to skip them and answer the easier questions first.

3. Not Eating Breakfast
There have been numerous studies that show that by eating breakfast you perform better when taking tests. Make sure you have enough time in the morning to eat a delicious breakfast. The extra boost of energy could make the difference between failing and passing.

4. Writing like a Maniac
Try your very best to write legibly. If you write like a crazy man it might be difficult for the AP graders to really understand what your trying to write about. When people come across a paper they can decipher then it knocks down their view of that paper. They have specific instructions to treat each paper as equals (racism is bad!), but sometimes you just cant help it. Bad impressions are hard to shake. Moral of the story is… trying to write legible = Happy AP graders.

5. Leaving Questions Blank
As of 2011 guessing on the AP U.S. History Exam does not effect your score what so ever. It used to be that if you got a question wrong you would lose points, but the college board saw their evil ways and decided to revert to the traditional grading system. This does however increase the questions you have to get right, but that’s alright, you’re a smart kid. So if you’re running out time on the AP exam don’t hesitate to guess on the questions you haven’t answered.

Orlando Schools Sue Parent for Blog Postings

Orlando schools have been a victim of the information age. In a recent news item, it was revealed that the New School of Orlando is suing a parent for comments posted on the parent’s blog about her daughter’s treatment while attending kindergarten there. The school is alleging that the parent’s statements caused enrollment to drop and that the school should be compensated for damage to its reputation. This one case raises the questions of how personal opinions on the Orlando schools can and should be shared.

Can One Person’s Blog Make a Difference at Orlando Schools?

If enrollment at this school dropped because of statements made by this parent, how can the school prove it? Or how could any Orlando schools if it happened to them? It’s almost impossible to track how and why parents choose to enroll or pull their children from various Orlando schools. But the pressing question is really whether parents should be prohibited from sharing opinions of Orlando schools online.

By its very nature, a blog is someone’s personal observations and opinions posted on a website. Please note that I said “personal.” I have no way of knowing if what this parent posted on her blog was true or not. But she believed it. I would hope that no child attending the Orlando schools would be treated with a lack of respect, as was stated on the blog in question. I also hope that no person working at the Orlando schools would think it was appropriate in any way to threaten a parent who had something to say about the school that officials didn’t agree with. But reality is that when you have as many families in an area as there are in Orlando schools, someone’s going to be unhappy.

Freedom of Speech and Orlando Schools

One idea is that students at Orlando schools (and elsewhere) have the freedom of speech to express their opinions. They should also be discussing the concept of censorship and at what point it is appropriate to tell someone that they can’t express their opinion, or if this is ever appropriate.

If what this parent wrote in her blog is not simply giving her opinion about her child’s treatment at this Orlando school and her allegations are true, then shouldn’t the public be informed of these facts? The institution involved in this case was a private school not part of the public Orlando schools. Yet whether she is or not, her opinion may be helpful to other parents, and my even force Orlando schools to improve.

I don’t know whether this blog simply listed this parent’s experience with the school or whether she actively discouraged other parents from enrolling their children at this particular school. Maybe she lambasted Orlando schools in general. No matter what, she has a right to her opinion. And as an Orlando schools parent, I want to know what other parents have to say.

Other parents may send their children to this same Orlando school and be quite happy with how the place is run. This woman has the right to express her opinion about any topic she chooses, whether online or elsewhere. Anything else is censorship and has no place in a democracy.

Why Colleges Want Ambitious and Dynamic Students

The college admissions process can be overwhelming for many families considering the competitive nature of admissions as well as the many variables high school students must take into account: challenging curriculum, strong essays, excellent standardized test scores (in most cases) and remarkable recommendation letters to name a few. In addition to students presenting these factors, it is essential for students to distinguish themselves and stress their additional activities. It is not the quantity of activities presented but the depth and continuity of a few activities demonstrating focus and sincere interests.

Colleges want to accept students they believe will become actively engaged on their campuses. Once students have the required grade point average and test scores, admission officers look for those items that will set a student apart and enrich their incoming classes. Colleges want students who will explore and take part in many campus activities. Their goal is to create a well-balanced class with students who have exceptional talents.

Although not everyone is a leader, it is important for students to have activities that encourage them to take on responsibilities, create new clubs and bring innovative ideas to campus. High school students may start out as a member of a club and rise to be president by the time they are seniors, for example.

Students who are active on campus tend to enjoy their college experience more with few if any reasons for transferring to another college. Colleges want to establish strong retention rates. So, they like students who remain productively engaged in campus activities. Colleges consider involved students as eventual alumni who may be potential contributors to that college.

Students should know that if their high schools do not offer the types of activities that interest them, there are countless community resources that can be researched. Remember that although grades, scores, essays and recommendations count, it’s also the student’s participation in things that the transcript does not reflect that also matter in admission decisions. Activities do not need to be directly related to the high school. Colleges want to know what students like to do in their free time. It is okay to list hobbies in which students are involved whether building computers, photography, cooking, learning magic or anything that demonstrates learning, enthusiasm, initiative and continuity.

The purpose of the activity resume is to give college officers better insight on the student, as they do want to learn as much about them as possible.
